Ye Feng sat near the back of the bus, boredom etched across his face as he gazed out the window. Though the bus wasn’t exactly crowded, every seat was occupied. Suddenly, a graceful figure by the window in the middle row caught his eye.

“Even her back is beautiful—she must be stunning.”

Behind her, on the two seats, sat a plump man and a skinny one, their eyes fixed on the woman as well.

The bus stopped at a station. Only two or three people were waiting. Just as Ye Feng was savoring the view, an elderly man with streaks of white hair boarded and blocked his line of sight.

The moment the old man stepped onto the bus, the young people seated all buried themselves in their phones or turned their heads to look outside, a trace of displeasure showing on the old man’s face.

“Ah!” The old man sighed heavily. “Young people these days have no respect for their elders!”

He suddenly noticed Ye Feng, who was staring at him.

“There are still sensible young people these days,” he thought.

But just as he considered walking over, he realized this young man had no intention of giving up his seat.

“You old fool, blocking my view of the beauty and still expecting me to give up my seat for you.” Rage flickered in Ye Feng’s eyes.

The old man shook his head and shot Ye Feng a glare. In truth, Ye Feng didn’t really mind giving up his seat—it was just that the old man looked perfectly healthy.

Seeing that no one was offering him a seat, the old man ended up standing beside the beautiful woman. She became his new target.

“Young lady, can’t you see there’s an elderly man standing here? All dressed up so nicely, yet you have no morals?” With that, he shoved the woman by the window.

She turned her head, her face expressionless, and replied coldly, “Don’t touch me.”

“Don’t you know you should offer your seat to the elderly?”

“Don’t you have elders at home?”

“Has your conscience been eaten by dogs?”

On and on, the old man’s words grew more and more unpleasant, blaming the youth of today.

From the side, Ye Feng could see the woman’s pale skin. Generally, the fairer the woman, the more attractive she was, but something about this woman’s pallor seemed unnatural.

Ye Feng clearly sensed a faint scent of blood in the air.

“Perhaps it’s that time of the month for her,” he thought. Women, after all, have their own ‘special visitor’ every month, which leaves them weak, irritable, depressed, and sleepy.

“So ill-mannered, a child raised by a mother but never taught by a father!” The old man went further, his voice rising.

At this, the woman turned and fixed him with a steely gaze, her eyes icy.

The old man grew even more agitated at being glared at by this “yellow-haired girl.” “Still glaring at me? Fine, I’ll teach you a lesson your parents never did!” He raised his hand as if to strike her.

“Damn, this old man really thinks he's the nation’s treasure!” Ye Feng sprang forward, gripping the old man’s arm tightly.

At that moment, Ye Feng got a clear look at the woman’s face: delicate brows, a classic oval face, skin as white as snow.

“She’s gorgeous.”

But what truly startled him wasn’t her beauty, but the intense murderous aura in her eyes.

“How could such a frail woman possess such a strong killing intent?” The force of it made a fine sheen of sweat break out on Ye Feng’s forehead.

The old man realized his hand was firmly locked, and looking again, saw it was just a youth, maybe eighteen or nineteen.

“What are you doing? Going to hit an old man?”

“Sir, you look robust. Why pick on a girl who’s obviously unwell?” Ye Feng replied, irritated.

“Unwell? She doesn’t look it. You young people think I don’t know? The moment I get on, you all pretend to sleep or stare outside. No manners at all!” The old man argued with conviction.

“Offering your seat to the elderly is a virtue, not an obligation.” Ye Feng flung the old man’s hand aside.

The old man managed to steady himself.

“Well, look at you, standing so firmly, and still you fight a young woman for a seat. Using your age to bully others—how shameless.”

“I’m old now, what do you expect?” He clung to his status as an elder.

After Ye Feng intervened, the old man didn’t dare say another word. He’d felt the boy’s strength just now.

Soon, the bus jolted to a stop. The woman rose slowly from her seat, but suddenly staggered and nearly collapsed. Ye Feng quickly steadied her.

“Are you alright?” he asked, concerned.

She said nothing, merely withdrew her arm from his grasp and got off the bus. As she stepped off, she flicked her finger lightly at the old man.

“Did you see how unwell she is? And you, perfectly fine, still shamelessly demanded her seat!” Ye Feng glared at him.

At that, the other passengers began to criticize the old man as well.

Feeling the disapproval of everyone on board, the old man hurriedly exited through the back door.

“You’re certainly strong for your age!” Ye Feng chuckled—he’d arrived at his stop as well.

At first, Ye Feng had assumed the woman was simply unwell, but now he was certain she was badly injured.

As he watched her graceful figure disappear into the crowd, two seedy-looking men appeared behind her.

“Boss, she keeps heading where there are lots of people. What should we do?” the plump man whispered.

“We move now,” the skinny man replied, a flash of malice in his eyes.

“Right now? But there are so many people—what if…”

“Don’t worry,” the skinny man smirked. “People today are cold. As long as it doesn’t concern them, no one will interfere.”

“You’re brilliant, boss!” the plump man said.

“Let’s go!”

The two quickened their pace, moving ahead of the woman.

The plump man’s face twisted with menace. “Hey, pretty thing, our boss wants to have some fun with you.”

“Get out of my way.”

“If I weren’t hurt, you wouldn’t have had a chance to say a second word,” the woman thought coldly, fixing the skinny man with an icy stare.

“Killing intent?” The skinny man frowned. “Am I imagining things? How could such a delicate woman exude such murderous aura?”

He threatened, “You’d best behave. Otherwise…”

A wave of dizziness washed over her. The skinny man exchanged a look with his partner.

The plump man grabbed one of her arms, the skinny man the other, and together they began to drag her toward a quieter area.

“You’re dead,” the woman said coolly, offering no resistance. They couldn’t know just how badly injured she was—she didn’t have the strength to fight back.

Xia Ling glanced at the indifferent passersby. In times like these, unless it concerned them directly, who would help? Powerless, she could only let herself be dragged along.

But she sensed another presence behind her. At this moment, that man was her only hope.

The two men hadn’t expected her to come so quietly. They’d already prepared excuses in case someone intervened, but she followed them without protest—surprising them both.

“That’s more like it. Soon, big brother will show you a good time,” the skinny one sneered.

As the crowd thinned, their faces lit with anticipation—they were about to succeed.

“Hey! Where are you taking my wife?”

A young man appeared before them, blocking their way.

“Your wife? Who are you fooling? She’s my girlfriend!” sneered the skinny man, recognizing the youth as someone intent on playing the hero. That’s always how it went—pretending to be a friend or boyfriend.

“Don’t believe me? Ask her,” Ye Feng said, glancing at the woman.

She shot him a frosty look. She hadn’t expected this boy to claim her as his wife! If he’d said they were dating, she might have played along.

“If you’re going to save me, just do it,” she thought.

“Seems she disagrees,” the skinny man smirked.

“Get lost, or else…” The plump one pulled a fruit knife from his pocket.

“Sorry, wrong person!” Ye Feng turned as if to leave. The woman could imagine what would happen if these two dragged her away. She wanted to call out, but didn’t even know his name.

Helpless.

“Husband! Save me!” Her voice was stiff but sultry enough to drive any man wild.

Ye Feng, though he’d walked a few steps away, heard her call clearly.

The two men hadn’t anticipated that her voice would be so magnetic—her tone sent another surge of hormones through their brains.

The next moment—

Ye Feng was in front of them, his hands locking onto theirs, prying them off the woman.

Both men felt as if their arms were about to snap, unable to exert any strength at all, and instinctively released her.

Ye Feng’s aura turned deadly in an instant.

“Lay a hand on my wife? You die!”

His presence surged. This was the moment that most attracted women—the man arriving, dashing and resolute, when she was most helpless.

A sharp crack—bones breaking—rang out, followed by shrill cries of pain.

With a slight twist, Ye Feng hurled the two men aside.

The woman’s heart finally relaxed. Her legs gave out, and she nearly collapsed.

Ye Feng caught her, and this time she didn’t resist, resting quietly in his arms. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to resist—she simply had no strength left.

Holding her, Ye Feng glared at the two men.

“You touched my wife—your arms are ruined. Did you touch her anywhere else? I’ll break that too!” he threatened.

The men hadn’t even seen how the youth had reached them. Even a fool could sense that they’d picked the wrong target.

“No, no, nothing else! Please, let us go!” they begged.

“Get lost!” Ye Feng roared.

The two scrambled away, dragging their useless arms.

“You’re badly hurt. Let me take you to the hospital,” Ye Feng said gently.

“Don’t take me to the hospital,” she muttered, consciousness fading.

“You’re injured—how can you not go?”

“Take me to your place.”

Wait, isn’t that a bit too fast? I’m not ready for this. Ye Feng felt sudden panic. She was beautiful, but he wasn’t the type to take advantage. Still, if he did, would he even be human?

“If you try anything, I’ll kill you!” she warned before passing out.

Ye Feng could tell from her tone she wasn’t joking.

Just as he was about to leave, a sweet voice called out.

“Stop! Let her go, you pervert!”

A girl in jeans appeared before him, blocking his path.
