Su Muyu and Su Muqing lingered in their room for quite a while before finally gathering their change of clothes and heading into the bathroom. The hot water gushed into the tub, and Su Muqing, having stripped off her clothes, pulled the equally bare Su Muyu in front of the mirror. Gazing at their nearly identical, delicate figures, she laughed and said, “We really are exactly the same, aren’t we?” As she spoke, she reached out and pinched Su Muyu’s chest.

Su Muyu blushed, swatted her hand away, and said, “Stop fooling around, let’s hurry up and shower.”

Su Muyu untied her hair, letting it cascade down her back like a waterfall. She turned on the shower, letting the hot water spray down, soaking her hair and body. Just then, Su Muqing suddenly exclaimed, “Oh no, sis, we forgot the lavender essential oil!”

Su Muyu was about to lather shampoo into her hair. Hearing her sister call out, she glanced back and said, “It’s fine to skip it just once.”

“No way!” Su Muqing reached out to touch Su Muyu’s hair. “Lavender soothes fatigue and helps you sleep. How can we skip it? There’s another bottle in the room—I’ll go fetch it.”

With that, Su Muqing grabbed the bathrobe, slipped it on, opened the bathroom door, and dashed off to the bedroom.

Lu Feng had watched television for half an hour; even the melodramatic eight o’clock drama had ended. Seeing Su Muqing dash past the living room, he assumed the twins had finished their bath and stood up to head to the bathroom himself.

The bathroom door was unlocked. He turned the handle and stepped inside—only to freeze in shock.

Before him was a radiant, supple, and utterly naked figure, her back to him as she washed her hair. Shampoo foam streamed down her delicate body with the hot water, flowing from slender shoulders to a smooth back, down to taut curves and long, alabaster legs.

It was the first time Lu Feng had ever seen such a breathtaking body. He was utterly mesmerized, a voice echoing in his heart: Marrying her wouldn’t be so bad—then perhaps I could have her as I wished?

Su Muyu’s hands moved gracefully as she shampooed her hair, the motion elegant and rhythmic. Through the arch of her arm, her full, rounded chest was visible from behind, the curves subtly accentuated. Her skin looked so soft and flawless it seemed a mere breath could bruise it. The sight was so enticing, it was all he could do not to reach through her arms to grasp that soft, inviting flesh.

“Qing, is that you?” Su Muyu, hearing the faint sound of the door opening, turned her head to ask.

Lu Feng’s heart pounded wildly as she turned. He had no idea how to explain what he’d just seen. But then he realized her eyes were closed, foam from the shampoo streaking her face—she hadn’t actually seen him, she’d only turned instinctively at the sound.

Just then, the hurried footsteps of Su Muqing echoed down the hallway.

Recognizing the sound, Lu Feng quickly slipped out of the bathroom and quietly closed the door, hiding behind a pillar in the corridor.

Su Muqing burst back in, noticing the bathroom door was only half-shut. But her carefree nature kept her from minding—she pushed it open and rushed inside, laughing, “Got it!” She locked the door behind her.

Su Muyu wiped the foam from her face with a towel. “Hurry up, or the water will get cold,” she said, glancing at the bathroom door, feeling vaguely that something was off, though she couldn’t put her finger on what.

Lu Feng emerged from behind the pillar and let out a long breath.

Though he hadn’t been discovered, Lu Feng still felt uneasy—but also a bit exhilarated. Whenever he closed his eyes, that unforgettable image flashed before him—the flawless, beautiful back, indelible in his mind.

That night, Lu Feng tossed and turned, unable to sleep. A certain part of his body stubbornly refused to calm down.

The next morning at breakfast, Su Muyu noticed Lu Feng glancing at her repeatedly. She touched her cheek and asked, “Is there something on my face?”

“No!” Lu Feng shook his head hastily.

“Is my complexion bad, then?” she asked curiously.

“No, you look fine. When you cook the lobster soup tonight, try adding some prepared rehmannia root—it’ll be even better,” Lu Feng replied.

“Prepared rehmannia? It nourishes the blood and moistens, replenishes essence and marrow—it’s quite suitable for me…” As she spoke, Su Muyu suddenly remembered that rehmannia also helps regulate women’s cycles, and her cheeks colored.

Su Muqing drained her century egg congee in one gulp and interjected, “Sis, don’t you have class this morning? Let’s go, or we’ll be late.”

“Oh, right. Lu Feng—senior, we’ll be off now,” Su Muyu said, setting down her bowl as Su Muqing dragged her out the door.

Outside, Su Muyu caught her sister’s hand. “My class is in the afternoon. Why did you say it was in the morning?”

“I can’t just leave you home alone. What if some bad guy tries to kidnap you?” Su Muqing replied.

“Aunt Wu is home, and there’s security at the gate. What kind of bad guy could get in? You’re being ridiculous,” Su Muyu chided.

“There’s already one living with us, isn’t there?”

Su Muyu burst out laughing. “Why are you always at odds with him? He fixed your finger last night, didn’t he?”

“Who says it was him? I was fine to begin with—just a scratch, that’s all. He almost broke my finger with all that cracking!” Su Muqing retorted with feigned arrogance.

“That’s called setting a bone.”

“I don’t care! Come with me to the police station. We need to identify those two thugs who bullied you, and I want to teach them a lesson!” Su Muqing said, clenching her fists and wrinkling her nose.

“You’re not allowed to break the rules again!”

“Fine, fine…”

After breakfast, Lu Feng found himself at loose ends. He stood up, clapped his hands, and said to Qilin, “Come on, let’s go for a walk.”

The Alaskan Malamute leapt up eagerly and followed him outside. By now, the security guards at the entrance knew Lu Feng by sight and greeted him with broad smiles. “Young Master Feng, out walking the dog?”

Lu Feng just nodded and went on his way.

The weather was pleasant—clear, with a few clouds. Lu Feng jogged along a quiet path with Qilin. Large dogs needed plenty of exercise; keeping them cooped up all day would only make them sick. Back in the mountains, Qilin could run at will, but after only a few days in the city, he was already restless. Now, released outside, he bounded happily ahead, then doubled back, tail wagging in delight.

As they turned from the side path onto the main road, a sudden “wee-woo wee-woo” siren blared. Lu Feng hurried onto Tangde Avenue and saw an ambulance speeding by. Up ahead, at the intersection, a crowd had gathered around a traffic jam—something must have happened.
