A thought had just begun to form in her mind when suddenly a stir arose within the crowd. The fair-skinned male model whom Su Li had first pointed at crumpled softly to the ground, caught by someone beside him. "He's fainted!" Su Li frowned. Why had he fainted? He fainted—so how was she supposed to faint?
Mo Xingyuan cast a glance at the fallen man, a flicker of coldness passing through his eyes. The dense swarm of magical creatures had barely appeared before it drew the attention of the imperial soldiers of the Heaven's Empire in the royal city, their nerves instantly strung taut. The tavern's raucous clamor fell silent at once; no one had anticipated such an unexpected turn. Nangong Yier spat at him in disdain, "I merely thought Your Highness was being dreadfully dull." She shot him a glare as she finished. Page (1/3)

The next morning, Nangong Yier slept until she naturally woke, stretching lazily only to find her whole body aching. Bracing herself against the stone, she realized only then that she had slept on that rock all night—no wonder her back and waist ached. Still, she had slept rather soundly through the night. Afterward, we rested another night at the old man's place, then set out again the following morning.
The Yellow Turban commander bellowed an order, and the archers atop the city walls immediately loosed their arrows, which rained down like a storm. Quite a few imperial officers and soldiers fell, and the shield-bearing ranks began to waver in disarray. With a deafening clang! A colossal spear of lightning gradually faded from the void, while Huang's sword was knocked aside to the ground.
Afterward, we pressed forward under the old man's lead. For some reason, the heavy footsteps from before now felt light once more. As he walked, he told us the place ahead was called Chen Family Village, where nearly all the men bore the surname Chen. And so we took to calling him Uncle Chen.
I figured that Heavenly King Li was truly a master at scrounging a meal, having resorted to intimidating me first before making his move—fortunately, I was already mentally prepared. It was, after all, just a meal.
What is called being decomposed means that the body would eventually dissipate like vapor and become a part of the atmosphere. This is rather harsh for higher forms of life. Their family had committed such a grave crime that even those connected to her household at the time had not been spared. If Xia Junyao had stepped in to help them, he would inevitably have been implicated. With that, he casually tightened the slipknot into a dead knot, severed the other length of rope, and took it away.
Murong Zhuo was not merely trying to frighten Yu Chong'an; he knew better than anyone that A Ju treasured Yu Ci, that devoted servant, and loathed faithless, fickle men above all. Page (2/3)

Just as he was speaking, his subordinates had already broken through the passage. Those things had clearly not been buried directly in the earth—it was a vast, hollow underground space instead. Shu Li, on the other hand, was filled with admiration for Zhang Yicheng and Xuan Yunjin; a single glance back then had yielded so many clues, and they had even managed to determine the true cause and time of death.
Did she really think she was someone to be bullied? Then let it be war! Xi Ran slowly extended her right hand, assuming a defensive stance. Hearing this, I let out a regretful sigh. Even Old Black, who had lived for many years, knew nothing of the ancient battlefield, and Wei Junyao always seemed to deliberately dodge the subject whenever it came up. If I truly wanted to know what had happened back then, would I really have to go seek out those old fellows in the Underworld Court myself?
"Squeak, squeak—" The moment Qi Ziyan finished speaking, the monkey leapt backward a step, its pitch-black eyes fixed on him in wary vigilance. As for the fused DNA cell body, she had conducted research on it before as well. There was no such thing as a half-injection; either it was not injected at all, or it was injected entirely.
Meanwhile, in the room, Situ Yexi remained unaware that the pastries he had been yearning for had already ended up in the fish's belly. Zero slowly raised his right hand. The two guards on either side immediately tensed, their hands reaching into their coats, poised to draw their guns at any moment. Page (3/3)
