Chapter 112: My hands are feeling a bit restless today!
The cave was not large, only a few dozen meters deep. At the very back stood a raised platform, around which flickered occasional streams of light. The center of the platform was inscribed with numerous intricate runes that emitted a strange glow, illuminating the entire cave.
Chen Xiang looked inside the cave with some surprise.
There was not a single person inside! Yet, his divine sense clearly detected several faint presences—it was obvious someone was hiding within the cave.
Chen Xiang assumed this was another illusion from the Immortal Path trial. He then covered his eyes with his spiritual power, but the scene remained unchanged: no one was visible.
This puzzled him. He hadn’t expected such a trick. How had it been done?
Although his divine sense could detect someone in the cave, it couldn’t determine the direction or even the cultivation level of those hidden.
Gradually, Chen Xiang grew wary.
Elder Li first used his divine sense to probe the cave entrance and found no issues. He then strode inside, followed closely by Elder Li Chu and Chen Xiang.
Chen Xiang observed quietly, his expression neutral, as if simply curious about his surroundings.
Not far from the entrance stood two chairs and a small tea table. On the table were a teapot and two teacups, the tea still steaming, as if freshly brewed.
Elder Li furrowed his brows as he passed by and said, "Where did these chairs come from? And the tea is still hot."
He reached out to pick up one of the teacups, but no matter how hard he tried, it felt as if it were fused to the table, impossible to lift.
Suddenly, Elder Li’s face froze, and a flicker of panic appeared. He immediately charged toward the cave’s exit, shouting to Chen Xiang and Elder Li Chu, "Run! There’s an ambush!"
Before he could escape, Elder Li Chu, standing at the entrance, unleashed a long-prepared spell at him.
Elder Li was caught off guard, unable to defend himself, and was struck by the attack.
"Phut!"
Blood spat from Elder Li’s mouth as he collapsed to the ground, barely conscious. Yet Elder Li Chu refrained from delivering a fatal blow; he understood Elder Li’s strength well enough to know he posed no mortal danger.
Chen Xiang, standing behind Elder Li Chu, was dumbfounded but excited. "Holy shit, so you really are a spy!"
Li Chu shot him a sharp glare but said nothing further, nor did he make any additional moves.
---
Chen Xiang paid no mind, patting his chest as if relieved. "Thank goodness, thank goodness! So my gut feeling was right. You’re a spy, and now my conscience doesn’t ache!"
"Heh, what an interesting little guy," Li Chu said, his face darkening with annoyance, ready to scold him, but before he could speak, a voice interrupted.
At that moment, a figure appeared seated by the tea table.
It was a young man dressed in a black sable robe, holding a folding fan. His complexion was pale but not sickly, and his handsome features carried a confident, playful expression as he appraised Chen Xiang and Elder Li.
"You’re the little guy? Your whole family’s little guys!" Chen Xiang retorted immediately, offended.
What a joke! He was the little guy? Who else would be bigger than him? They were probably all about to disappear!
The young man’s face briefly flickered with annoyance but quickly vanished.
"How dare you! Kid, do you know who you’re talking about?" a lean man behind the youth suddenly stepped forward, pointing at Chen Xiang and shouting.
"I don’t care who he is. I don’t even know him!" Chen Xiang crossed his arms disdainfully.
"You!" The man wanted to reprimand him but was waved off by the young man, who gestured calmly, forcing the man to retreat fearfully.
"Cough... you… you are..." Elder Li struggled to lift his head, trembling as he pointed uncertainly at the youth, unable to form a complete sentence.
The young man frowned lightly and said coolly, "I hate being pointed at!"
With that, he flicked his fan, unleashing a fierce gust of wind that instantly severed Elder Li’s arm.
"Ah!!!"
Elder Li screamed in agony, his already grave wounds worsening.
The young man retracted his hand, his expression indifferent as he gently fanned himself, as if cutting off Elder Li’s arm was nothing extraordinary.
Chen Xiang drew a sharp breath.
What an impressive act! He made a mental note to remember this trick for future use.
---
What really surprised Chen Xiang wasn’t just the young man’s manner but his cultivation level—he was at the second level of the Nascent Soul stage! And he looked no older than Li Hanwei, roughly the same age.
"Young master, is everything alright?" Li Chu stepped forward respectfully, then glanced at the teleportation array on the platform with concern.
The young man’s face remained calm as he said lightly, "Inside, sect elders are confronting each other. For now, everything is under control."
Hearing this, Li Chu relaxed and stood silently behind the young man.
The youth looked at Chen Xiang with a faint smile. "Heh, little guy, so you’re the one Hanwei has her eye on?"
"You’re the little guy! I’m the big guy. You know Li Hanwei? That woman ran away from home. Don’t you know how worried I’ve been? Do you know where she is? I’m going to bring her back and make her kneel on a washboard!" Chen Xiang corrected the title and said indignantly.
A cold gleam flashed in the youth’s eyes but quickly faded. He said lightly, "Just as she said, you’re quite an interesting person. Since you know me, why hide your strength?"
Li Chu and Elder Li’s pupils constricted as they glanced at Chen Xiang.
Chen Xiang shrugged helplessly. "Sigh, that woman really… Didn’t she say she’d wait for me? How did she tell others about me? Women really can’t be trusted!"
Then Chen Xiang stopped concealing his aura, revealing his cultivation at the fourth level of Nascent Soul.
Li Chu and Elder Li were incredulous. The “little guy” in their eyes was actually a Nascent Soul cultivator—and at the fourth level!
They themselves were at the fifth and sixth levels of Nascent Soul, respectively.
The young man’s interest was piqued upon seeing Chen Xiang’s strength.
"Your concealment is indeed clever. Even I, unaware beforehand, couldn’t discern your true cultivation. But to think you’ve broken through in just a day or two! Your talent for cultivation is truly one in ten thousand!" He said with some surprise, and a hint of admiration in his eyes: almost catching up with me!
"Oh! So what’s next? Hmm… I’m a bit itchy today. How about we spar a little?" Chen Xiang said earnestly.
"To be continued..."
