Chapter 115: My Name Is Yi Bai
Soon, the French police arrived.
Jiang Ciyou did not speak French.
However, the boy in the white shirt just now spoke to the police in perfectly fluent French.
Then, the police took away the blond boy and the one with dreadlocks.
The boy in white ran over to Jiang Ciyou.
At that moment, Jiang Ciyou was sitting on a bench in the square.
One of her high-heeled shoes had broken into two pieces.
Her ankle was also swollen.
She was gently massaging her ankle.
The boy in white noticed and quickly approached, asking with concern, "Sister, are you alright?"
Jiang Ciyou looked up, deliberately putting on a stern face. "If it weren’t for your heroic act, I probably would have been fine."
The boy’s handsome face flushed instantly. "Sorry, I didn’t know you were that formidable."
Later, the boy realized that when she was crouching to tie her shoe, she was actually waiting for the right moment to act—or rather, to kick.
If he hadn’t suddenly lunged forward, she wouldn’t have twisted her ankle because she wouldn’t have had to stop her force.
Seeing the boy’s flushed cheeks and guilty expression, Jiang Ciyou suddenly smiled. "Kid, I was just teasing you."
"You stepped forward bravely when danger appeared, reacted quickly, handled things decisively, and showed great courage. That’s wonderful. I’m very grateful you helped me."
"And besides, you looked really cool charging over like that!"
A smile immediately spread over the boy’s face.
He was a bit embarrassed by the compliment, scratching his fluffy golden hair.
"I didn’t think much at the time. I just thought that as a man, I couldn’t stand by and watch two guys bully a girl."
Jiang Ciyou laughed heartily. "What’s your name?"
"I’m Eboni, my Chinese name is Yibai. What about you, sister?"
Jiang Ciyou flicked her wavy hair. "I’m Yeo, Chinese name Jiang Ciyou. You look younger than me, so just call me sister."
"Sister, where do you live? I’ll escort you back."
Jiang Ciyou’s ankle was swollen, making walking difficult, so she didn’t refuse.
"WORLD Hotel, thank you."
Eboni’s eyes brightened. "What a coincidence, I live at WORLD too."
After he said that, Jiang Ciyou began to reassess the boy.
WORLD was the only seven-star hotel in Paris.
Not just anyone could stay there.
Even the most basic room cost six figures in euros per night.
Those who stayed there were practically top-tier tycoons.
But the boy before her...
He wore very ordinary clothes—a simple white T-shirt from a common sports brand found in supermarkets.
His pants and shoes were the same.
Though dressed plainly, he looked exceptionally fresh and clean, giving off a comfortable vibe.
It wasn’t that Jiang Ciyou judged by appearance.
She was simply curious.
Eboni seemed to see through her doubt and tugged on the hem of his white T-shirt. "I’m not a rich second-generation heir. I’m a resident singer at the rooftop bar there."
Jiang Ciyou smiled. "Good, I’m not keen on making friends with trust-fund kids."
Eboni was slightly taken aback, then said, "You mean we’re friends, right?"
"Of course."
Eboni stepped forward to support Jiang Ciyou. "Sister, do you really dislike rich kids that much?"
Jiang Ciyou thought for a moment. "Not exactly. It’s just that there’s one rich kid I dislike right now."
Images of Bo Jin Xiu’s face surfaced in her mind.
Come to think of it, he bore a slight resemblance to the boy before her.
Jiang Ciyou inwardly scolded herself.
Could it be that she missed Bo Jin Xiu so much that upon seeing an Asian face in a foreign land, she connected the two?
Soon, Jiang Ciyou returned to the hotel.
Eboni bought her medicine.
After applying it, Jiang Ciyou felt much less pain, guessing the swelling would subside by tomorrow.
"Sis, I have a performance at midnight. Want to come watch?"
Jiang Ciyou waved her hand. "I’m too old for that. I need my beauty sleep by ten. Maybe next time."
Eboni didn’t push.
After exchanging contact details, he left.
Actually, Jiang Ciyou didn’t sleep at midnight.
She just felt too lazy to go out today.
The design competition was the day after tomorrow.
It would be held at the Grand Palais.
The Grand Palais was just across a fashionable street from WORLD.
Only a short walk away.
Early the next morning,
Jiang Ciyou received a message from Eboni.
[Sis, is your ankle feeling better?]
Jiang Ciyou smiled.
She pictured how he called her “sis.”
His skin was very fair, slender and clean.
His eyes shone bright like stars in the night, seemingly glowing.
His hair was golden, fluffy and soft, inviting a playful urge.
When he smiled, his eyes curved gently, and there was a small dimple on his left cheek—handsome and cute.
When he called her sister, his voice was pleasant, tinged with a natural sweetness, clear as the mountain breeze.
He was an exceptionally pure and adorable boy.
Jiang Ciyou replied.
[It’s fine now.]
He quickly messaged back.
[I’m having breakfast at the restaurant. Join me?]
Jiang Ciyou didn’t hesitate.
[Okay.]
Perhaps meeting a kindred spirit with shared language and skin color in a foreign land created a bond of familiarity.
Perhaps his smile was simply healing.
Jiang Ciyou quite enjoyed spending time with him.
After breakfast, Eboni took her to visit the Eiffel Tower, then to a café by the Seine for coffee.
They went to a nearby gallery to see an exhibition, and even attended a small concert.
Without realizing it, the day passed.
Jiang Ciyou felt very happy.
They had dinner together at the hotel restaurant.
Eboni was excited. "Sis, where do you want to go tomorrow?"
Jiang Ciyou smiled. "No time tomorrow. I’m here for the Paris Designers’ Competition."
Eboni smiled, showing his dimple. "So you’re a designer. No wonder you’re so elegant."
"What about you?" Jiang Ciyou asked curiously between bites.
"I’m an exchange student, a junior this year. But I’m poor, so I do many part-time jobs to pay tuition and living expenses—like singing at bars, tutoring Chinese kids, and sometimes modeling and acting."
Jiang Ciyou nodded, just as she had guessed.
She said, "After the competition, I’ll return home. We probably won’t meet again. When you come back to China someday, look me up. I’ll treat you to a meal."
Eboni’s smile deepened, very cute. "Okay, I’ll definitely find you then."
After dinner,
Eboni suddenly said, "Sis, come see my show tonight. It starts at nine."
Jiang Ciyou was surprised. "I thought you said midnight?"
Actually, she had planned to check out the rooftop bar tonight.
Eboni scratched his head. "The time changed. From now on, it’s always nine o’clock."
