Chapter 128: Mutual Piercing
Yun’an Clinic.
Su Muqing stepped lightly into the consultation room and saw Lu Feng checking a patient’s pulse, so she sat down quietly on the sofa nearby.
After finishing the pulse diagnosis and writing a prescription, Lu Feng saw the patient off. Then he came over and sat beside Su Muyu, asking, “Is there something you need at this hour?”
Su Muyu shook her head. After a moment, she said, “I’ve gone back to school for classes. A classmate told me that Ye Wuhua was murdered, along with Wang Huawen. I saw both of them at the bar that night…”
Lu Feng reached out, gently draping an arm around her shoulders, offering comfort. “Those two had made a lot of enemies. Probably some ruthless person seeking revenge. Don’t overthink it.”
Su Muyu nodded. “I know, but Ye Wuhua was my classmate. Suddenly hearing he’s dead… it just feels awful inside.”
She didn’t know that the events of that night were arranged by Wang Huawen and Ye Wuhua. After being drugged, she remained unaware of what happened until Lu Feng carried her home, and she finally regained some clarity.
Today, Su Muyu wore a pale blue chiffon dress—both beautiful and delicate, evoking a tender, protective instinct.
Remembering his closeness with Su Muqing, Lu Feng boldly scooped Su Muyu up onto his lap.
“Ah!” Su Muyu was startled by his sudden move.
Unlike Chen Lan, who was like a blooming rose exuding intoxicating allure, Su Muyu resembled a bud on the verge of blossoming—fragile and in need of gentle care.
Lu Feng held her close, softly inhaling her scent.
“What are you doing?” Su Muyu curled her neck shyly, not cooperating.
“Just holding you.”
“This is the clinic. What if someone comes in?”
“Visitors have to make appointments in advance. Don’t worry.”
“We shouldn’t do this,” she murmured, gently resisting but without much force.
“Why not? You nodded your consent that night.” Lu Feng embraced her from behind, his hand holding hers, his thumb softly stroking the tender skin on the back of her hand.
Thinking of that night, a blush crept onto Su Muyu’s cheeks. That night was like a dream—amidst her haze of fear, seeing Lu Feng was like grasping a lifeline. She clung to him with a hint of infatuation.
“I’m ignoring you. I’m going home,” she said, pouting.
“You haven’t even told me why you came. Leaving so soon?” Lu Feng asked.
Only then did Su Muyu remember she had something important to say, but after the interruption, she found herself at a loss for words.
“What is it? Why’d you stop talking?” Lu Feng asked, curious.
“I missed a week of class—acupuncture practice. I wanted to make it up with you,” Su Muyu sighed.
“Doesn’t your teacher help you with that?”
Hearing this, Su Muyu’s mood soured a bit. After hesitating, she said, “The professor tutored me, but when he taught me hands-on, he kept hugging me from behind…”
Lu Feng frowned. “That jerk. I’ll go give him a good beating!”
“Ah, don’t be so impulsive. He’s our acupuncture professor. We can’t ruin our relationship with him,” Su Muyu hurriedly explained.
“If you won’t let me handle it, then I’ll tell Muqing,” Lu Feng threatened.
Thinking of her sister immediately made Su Muyu realize the consequences. “No, if Muqing finds out, it’ll be even worse.”
“Either I go beat him up, or Muqing does. Choose one,” Lu Feng said firmly.
“Don’t be like that!” Su Muyu frowned, a little angry. “He didn’t do anything to me, just touched my hand once. I made an excuse and left. I don’t want to make a fuss, or I’ll be scared to go back to class.”
“Okay, okay. Tomorrow I’ll come with you to school and have a serious talk with your professor,” Lu Feng relented slightly.
Su Muyu considered it and said, “It’s a deal—but only talking. No fighting.”
“Got it, just teasing,” Lu Feng said, though inwardly he thought whether to fight would depend on the situation.
…
“Well, I’m heading home,” Su Muyu said.
“Aren’t you here for tutoring? I haven’t taught you yet,” Lu Feng said, squeezing her hand.
Su Muyu really wanted to try acupuncture on a real person again—a rare opportunity only available with Lu Feng. She pouted and said, “Only if you promise to teach seriously.”
Lu Feng nodded. “Of course, I’m always serious.”
“But there aren’t any patients now,” Su Muyu said, glancing at the door. No one was coming in for pulse diagnosis.
“Then poke me,” Lu Feng said, rolling up his sleeve to reveal his arm.
“Ah?” Su Muyu was surprised. “Isn’t that a bit much? You’re not sick.”
“You don’t have to be sick for acupuncture to stimulate circulation,” Lu Feng said casually.
After thinking it over, Su Muyu said, “Alright, then I’ll do it.”
“Then we’ll do it to each other,” Lu Feng said, pulling her to sit down. He opened a needle box, took out a Ling Shu needle, and pinched her palm. “The ‘Hegu’ point here is part of the hand’s three yin meridians. Inserting the needle half an inch helps clear lung congestion.” Then he slowly inserted the needle into the point.
Su Muyu nodded. “This is good. I can feel the depth and the firmness.”
Lu Feng reached out his hand. “Now you try on me.”
Holding Lu Feng’s hand, Su Muyu hesitated nervously. “Really? I’m going to poke you?”
Lu Feng nodded. “Go ahead, poke wherever.”
“Are you sure I won’t hurt you?”
“Don’t worry. Even the best needle masters would struggle to damage my meridians, let alone you,” Lu Feng said confidently.
Taking courage, Su Muyu picked up a Ling Shu needle and carefully inserted it into Lu Feng’s ‘Hegu’ point.
“That’s enough depth. If it feels tight, just twist it a bit,” Lu Feng said, noticing her hand tremble slightly as he watched her needle technique.
After the first needle, she moved on to the second.
They began needling each other, and soon their left hands were dotted with needles, like two hedgehogs.
…
“What on earth are you two doing?” Su Dao’an entered the clinic and was startled to see them poking each other with needles.
Su Muyu looked back and said, “Senior Brother is teaching me acupuncture practice.”
No explanation was needed—Su Dao’an smiled and said, “Well, keep practicing then.”
“Dad, do you need Senior Brother for something?” Su Muyu asked, her hand full of needles and unable to move freely.
“Oh, nothing major. A patient said their prescription seemed less effective, so I came to ask Xiao Feng if we need to change the formula,” Su Dao’an replied.
“You two have business then, I’ll leave first,” Su Muyu said, trying to stand.
“No rush, no rush…” Su Dao’an waved her off.
Still, Su Muyu rose and headed toward the door.
Hearing Su Dao’an’s words, Lu Feng immediately guessed who it was. “Tang Long asked you to come ask?” he said.
