“You’re the one with weak kidneys!” Wang Huawen roared in fury the moment he heard the term.

“None of that fancy talk changes my diagnosis. With you acting this irritable, it’s a textbook case of kidney weakness. On top of that, you should have dizziness, restlessness, premature aging, bags under the eyes, dark circles, soreness and weakness in the lower back and knees, and so on. Most important of all, hair loss. The way you’ve permed your bangs is clearly to hide the thinning hair on your forehead. Honestly, to be in this state at thirty, it’s hard to imagine how you managed it. And those so-called sex pills in Western medicine, or whatever else, do not nourish the kidneys. Taking them recklessly will only make things worse.” Lu Feng blurted out all of Wang Huawen’s symptoms one by one.

Wang Huawen’s face flushed red, nearly turning purple from rage and humiliation. “You’re asking for death! Believe it or not, I’ll have someone hack you to pieces!”

Lu Feng rubbed his ear, feeling that line sounded strangely familiar, as if he had heard someone else shout it before.

“Cutting me to pieces won’t help. Kidney weakness has to be dealt with through self-discipline. Pills alone won’t cure it,” Lu Feng said.

“You filthy fraud of a Chinese medicine quack, trying to cheat money out of me! I knew it long ago—Western medicine doesn’t even have a disease like kidney weakness! It’s all you charlatans, making up baseless nonsense just to scam people!” Wang Huawen had been struck at the most sensitive point of a man’s pride. He raised his fist and moved to hit Lu Feng.

“Do you know how I tamed the last foreigner who slandered Chinese medicine?” Lu Feng asked. “Want to try and see?”

“I think you’re begging for a beating!” Wang Huawen shouted, throwing a punch at Lu Feng’s face.

Lu Feng looked at the speed of Wang Huawen’s strike and found it as slow as a turtle crawling. He lifted a hand casually, caught the fist, then pressed a finger against a crucial point on the inside of Wang Huawen’s elbow.

Wang Huawen yelped. His right arm went limp and hung uselessly at his side. Having suffered at the first exchange, he pointed at Lu Feng and said viciously, “You fucking wait! Watch yourself when you go out from now on!” Then he turned and left.

After Wang Huawen was gone, Zhou Fuqu hesitated for a moment before walking up to Lu Feng and explaining, “I was forced by Wang Huawen just now and got a little angry, so I said that. I didn’t mean it that way. Don’t misunderstand.”

“I know. You were using me as a shield. It doesn’t feel very good to be one, but I can’t blame you,” Lu Feng replied.

“It’s good that you understand.” Zhou Fuqu let out a long breath, suddenly feeling much lighter, though at the same time she felt a little disappointed.

“Hm… Cousin’s explanation is pretty flimsy,” Du Zitong said skeptically, needling her.

“You talk too much!” Zhou Fuqu poked Du Zitong’s forehead.

...

Seeing Wang Huawen return, Zhou Luyang went up and asked, “How is it? When are you going to modify my sports car?”

“Get lost! Modify your damn ass!” Wang Huawen had nowhere to vent his temper and yelled at Zhou Luyang.

“What the hell do you mean? You couldn’t pick up a girl, and that’s somehow my fault?” Zhou Luyang knew at a glance that Wang Huawen had been embarrassed again.

Wang Huawen glared at him bitterly, then clutched his numb, limp right hand and left in a hurry. Worried that his arm might have been broken, he rushed off in a panic to the hospital for an examination.

...

“Tch.” Zhou Luyang clicked his tongue at Wang Huawen’s retreating back. When he turned around and saw a pair of beautiful twin sisters walking over, he immediately smiled and went to greet them, leaning against a corridor pillar and striking what he thought was a very handsome pose.

“Hi! Hello there. You two must be surnamed Su, right? My name is Zhou Luyang. How about we be friends?”

Su Muqing waved a hand as if shooing away flies and said impatiently, “Move aside! Out of the way! Why are you blocking the path?”

“Hey!” Zhou Luyang realized he had been ignored and said unhappily, “Do you even know who I am? How dare you ignore me?”

“Don’t know, and don’t want to know.” Su Muqing waved her hand again, shooing away flies, and pulled Su Muyu along as she walked on. “Sis, how about we head home first? There’s nothing fun here.”

“Let’s wait a little longer. Dad is still talking with someone. If we leave first, it’ll be rude,” Su Muyu said.

“What’s there to talk about? That guy Lu Feng has no idea where he ran off to. He probably went off to do something shady again. I just saw him take a little girl out earlier,” Su Muqing said.

Zhou Luyang was ignored once more, in full and splendid fashion. Still unwilling to give up, he quickly stepped in front of the twins, leaning against a second pillar and posing again.

“Your dresses look beautiful today...”

Women could not resist praise, and Zhou Luyang had only just begun when Su Muqing glared at him and said directly, “You mean we’re not beautiful, is that it?”

“No, no, you’re beautiful too.”

“What does our beauty have to do with you? Get lost! Buzzing around like a fly, how annoying!” Su Muqing said.

“I mean, you could look even better. Tomorrow I’ll take you shopping for clothes, how about it? Then we can have dinner at Cafe Haven. I’ve got a bottle of red wine stored there, from eighty-two. Want to taste it?” Zhou Luyang said with exaggerated sophistication.

Su Muqing, however, had absolutely no interest. She pulled Su Muyu along and kept walking. “Who wants to drink that sour stuff? I’d rather go home and drink tea. Old Su even has a hidden jar of Da Hong Pao; one liang of that is worth a bottle of wine.”

“Hey! I don’t believe it.” Zhou Luyang dashed in front of the twins yet again, struck the pose again, and said, “How about I take you out for a drive then? I just bought a Porsche. Want to try it?”

Su Muqing snorted through her delicate nose and put her hands on her hips. “Is a Porsche a two-seater? How are you supposed to take us for a drive?”

“How simple. You can sit on my lap,” Zhou Luyang said, wiggling his eyebrows.

Su Muqing really could not hold it in anymore. She stomped on Zhou Luyang’s instep with her high heel and clenched a fist in warning. “Sit on your big head! Get lost already! A weakling like you? Bring a whole group and I could knock you all flat with one punch! If you don’t get out of my way, I’ll knock every last tooth out of your mouth!”

Oof... oof...

With his instep crushed beneath the heel, Zhou Luyang let out a miserable cry and hopped around on tiptoe. “You—”

...

Lu Feng came over from the courtyard with Zhou Fuqu and Du Zitong and saw the two Su sisters arguing with Zhou Luyang.

“What happened?” Lu Feng asked, quickening his pace.

When Su Muyu saw Lu Feng, she hurriedly took his arm and said, “It’s nothing. Young Master Zhou was just joking with Qing. Dad asked me to come out and find you.”

Lu Feng looked at her and saw that she was not in good spirits, so he asked with concern, “What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell somewhere?”

Su Muyu covered her forehead and said, “It’s nothing. Maybe I’ve been out too long. I’m just a little tired.”

“Then hurry home. Did you take your medicine today?” Lu Feng asked.

“Not yet. I’ll just call Aunt Wu to make it on the way home,” Su Muyu said.

“Then go rest in the car for a bit. I’ll go see whether your father is done talking,” Lu Feng said, helping Su Muyu toward the garage.

Su Muqing hurried after them.

Du Zitong watched curiously as Lu Feng led the twin beauties away and sighed with an air far older than her years. “Cousin, I never expected you to have so many rivals, and every single one of them is so pretty. Sigh... I guess this is what they call enemies on all sides? Fine, I won’t compete with you for now. When you lose, I’ll make my move.”

Zhou Fuqu looked at Lu Feng’s back, then at this clever little cousin of hers, and very much wanted to drag her into a room and spank her bottom good and hard.
