Swallowing nervously, they glanced at each other. Turning their heads, they watched Xiao with caution, as if afraid she might devour them! Meng stood off to the side, gazing at Xiao with envy, thinking how fortunate Xiao was. She could hold Han’s hand whenever she wished and bask in his affection, while Meng herself could do nothing. Saddened, she lowered her head and traced circles on the floor with her foot.

Suddenly, Xiao stopped in front of Meng, still holding Han’s hand. Then she reached out and took Meng’s hand, intertwining all their fingers together. With a solemn face, Xiao said, “Meng! I’m entrusting you with a great mission! From this moment on, you must hold my brother’s hand like this—don’t let him get snatched away by any hungry wolves!”

The servers, hearing Xiao’s pointed remarks, all lowered their heads in embarrassment, unable to meet anyone’s eyes. Just then, laughter echoed from outside the door. Xiao turned to look and, to her surprise, saw the Six—Ouyang Qianyu, Xiao Ai, Dongfang Shuo, Bing Ling, Xue Xin, and Hui—coming in.

“Xiao is so adorable!” Xiao Ai cupped her cheeks with both hands, eyes sparkling with hearts as she gazed at Xiao. It was the look of a mother seeing her child, and Xiao was instantly petrified!

When had these people arrived? Damn it! How long had they been watching the spectacle from outside? She was truly annoyed to have unknowingly provided them with so much free entertainment.

“Are you here to buy some clothes too?” Bing Ling spoke gently, trying to ease the atmosphere. “Uh, yes! Xiao just returned to the country a week ago and doesn’t have many clothes yet, so we’re here to have a look around,” Meng replied with a smile, speaking to Bing Ling.

Her hand, tense with nerves, clasped Han’s tightly. For some reason, Han didn’t seem to mind the feeling at all. The arrival of these handsome and beautiful guests drew the attention of everyone in the shop, but the crowd was still intimidated by the aura Xiao had displayed moments ago and dared not step out of line.

Xiao walked up to Yu, and everyone held their breath. Whenever Xiao encountered Yu, she would inevitably go into a frenzy, and no one could stop her! Everyone watched the two with nervous anticipation. The only one at ease was Han, who calmly observed them. He alone knew that Xiao didn’t truly dislike Yu. She simply hadn’t yet adjusted to the reality of Yu’s return.

He remembered when Yu was taken away by his parents, Xiao had hidden herself away in her room, refusing to come out. She would clutch Yu’s photo and mutter about liars and such. Clearly, Xiao cared deeply for Yu.

Xiao strode up to Yu, stretched out her hand, and said, “Give me the money.” The entire room was stunned into silence by her words!

What was happening? Xiao’s logic seemed to leap in unpredictable ways! And, as far as everyone remembered, Yu didn’t owe her any money. But Yu’s reaction was even more baffling—if Xiao was mad, so be it, but Yu actually went along with her antics! He took out his wallet, pulled out a stack of bills, and handed them to Xiao, then foolishly asked, “Is this enough?”

What kind of performance was this? No one could make sense of it! Were these two just back from Mars? How could they do such headache-inducing things? The jaws of the onlookers nearly hit the floor.

Yet the two troublemakers were completely oblivious! Must they be so provocative? Xiao took the money Yu handed her, shot him a glare, snorted coldly, and turned to leave. Han, watching the scene unfold, couldn’t help but chuckle softly.
