Nervously glancing around and seeing nothing unusual, he asked in confusion, "Is something wrong?"

Xiao Shangguan, hands on her hips and wearing a displeased expression, retorted, "You dare to ask? You’ve been spacing out for so long! What’s going on with you?"

Fuming, Xiao Shangguan glared fiercely, her petite frame seeming even smaller beside him. The heater was on in the room, yet Kevin still felt cold.

He rubbed his hands awkwardly, blowing warm air onto them. He truly felt chilled. Though a foreigner, winters had always been his greatest dread since childhood.

Han watched him, having spent so much time together at school and understanding Kevin somewhat. She reached out and called the servant standing nearby: “Young master, any orders?”

Han said coldly into the phone, “Bring up a towel and a cup of hot tea.”

Then, turning his head, he smiled faintly—a rare gesture—and sat on the bed facing Kevin. “Welcome to my humble abode. Unfortunately, I’m unable to entertain you properly right now. My apologies.” His face bore sincere regret.

Kevin’s mouth fell open in astonishment. Did he just call this place his “humble abode”? This villa was as large as a castle! To call it humble was sheer extravagance! If this was his humble home, what would their actual house be? A mere doghouse! The luxury was overwhelming.

Kevin listened to Han’s strange instructions, a thousand question marks floating overhead. He couldn’t fathom why he needed a towel. The servants of the Shangguan family were impressively swift. No sooner had Han given the order than someone brought the items up.

A rhythmic knock sounded at the door. Han said coldly, “Come in.”

The servant entered, carrying the items. He bowed respectfully to Han and said, “Young master, your requested items have arrived.”

Han settled back on the bed, motioning for the servant to hand the items to Kevin. Kevin looked at the servant standing before him, then back at Han in confusion. What were these for?

Han’s voice grew impatient: “You’re covered in snow. If it melts, you’ll catch a cold! Hurry and dry yourself with the towel!”

Though Han wasn’t as gentle with him as she was with Xiao, Kevin felt deeply satisfied. To receive Han’s concern made him feel as if he were soaring with happiness.

Xiao Shangguan was truly a lively girl. She couldn’t sit still for long and soon grew restless. Playfully planting a kiss on Han’s cheek, she cheerfully said, “Brother, you chat with this beauty, I’m going out to play for a bit! Bye-bye!”

Waving her hand, she left without taking a single cloud with her but left behind a trail of complaints. Kevin, displeased, shouted after her retreating figure, “I told you I’m a guy! So annoying!”

Angry, Kevin stomped his feet on the spot. He genuinely wanted to grab Xiao Shangguan and give her a good scolding. Watching him gnash his teeth in frustration, Han found it utterly amusing.

It was usually Kevin who stirred up headaches for him. Now, with these two lively rascals together, it promised to be entertaining—and Han could enjoy some peace.

Feigning indifference, Han said, “Alright! From the way Xiao acts, she seems to like you a lot. You can come by to play often.”

It sounded like a good idea, but Han meant coming to visit Xiao. He had no desire to be called “sister,” so he had to correct her. “I’m a guy,” he said reluctantly.

Seeing him flustered over his gender, Han chuckled. “I know.”

The elegant room was decorated primarily in shades of gray and white. The furnishings were minimal but grand, arranged to convey a majestic atmosphere.
