She really didn’t know what to say! Xiao kept searching for information about changing the head of the family. Finally, fragments from her memory surfaced. She remembered that before she returned to her home country, she had always lived at her grandmother’s house.

One day, while she was playing an online game with Meng, her grandmother seemed to have said something to her! What was it exactly? In a lavish room, a young girl was dressed in a pale yellow, diamond-studded gown.

Her bare feet rested on a white fur rug as she excitedly clutched her keyboard, furiously typing away. Noble household items were scattered throughout the room. At each corner stood ancient Chinese porcelain, adding a touch of elegance to the space.

On the intricately carved king-size bed, the silk quilt lay tossed aside by its owner. The vanity table was lined with expensive cosmetics, still sealed, revealing that their owner never used them.

In the end, their fate would likely be to be thrown away or given to someone else. Light purple curtains hung from the enormous floor-to-ceiling windows. Beside the window, all kinds of flowers and greenery flourished, for people to admire.

There was also a massive bookshelf filled with books of all sorts, some even being rare editions from around the world. Next to the bookshelf stood a desk, upon which sat the latest model computer.

The luxurious rosewood table and chairs exuded extravagance just by their appearance. The girl’s dark hair fell loose, her slender, pale fingers dancing swiftly across the keyboard, like a fairy playing the zither. Every movement radiated an enchanting allure.

On the computer screen, two animated characters were fighting monsters in a game dungeon. The girl’s violet eyes widened as she focused intently on the screen. At this moment, a woman entered the room, still radiant with timeless beauty.

She gently sat on a deep black leather sofa, gazing lovingly at the girl. The girl knew from the moment the woman entered, but because of the game, she didn’t turn to greet her.

The woman sat nearby and said affectionately, “Xiaoxiao, grandma is getting old. It’s time for me to retire.” She looked a little nervous as she spoke, but Xiao remained engrossed in her game.

She gave no response to the woman’s words. Seeing how absorbed she was, the woman continued, “What if you took my place and managed the Bai clan?”

“….” Her answer was the sound of keys being struck.

“Great!” The machine’s voice praised her. Xiao played with utmost seriousness, occasionally letting out cheerful laughter.

The woman saw that her granddaughter was focused solely on her game, paying no attention to her words. A shrewd glint flashed in her eyes! She calculated silently in her heart, and after deciding it would work, she smiled and said, “If you don’t answer, I’ll take it as a yes!”

Seeing that Xiao still didn’t react, she secretly rejoiced. She gazed at Xiao lovingly, and thus the matter was settled! She rose, took her things, and gracefully walked out of the room.

Xiao, absorbed in her game, was unaware that her grandmother had bound her to this responsibility without her realizing it! When she finished playing, she found her grandmother had already left. Bored, she shrugged and turned back to her game.

Sunlight streamed in, illuminating the entire room. It felt like paradise, enchanting anyone who entered. Thinking back on it all, Xiao could only click her tongue in disbelief! Her grandmother had waited until she was fully absorbed in her game to scheme against her! Ah! It was truly too wicked! She lay helplessly on her bed, never imagining things would turn out this way.
