The creature ultimately utilized a private teleportation array, transferring directly from the login space to the small town it wished to visit.

Tyrannosaurus Town was guarded by mature-stage Tyrannosaurus Digimon, and its surroundings were filled with mature-stage dungeons and leveling zones. This made it the most suitable place for players who had just left the beginner village to train, and there were also tasks available here.

A player’s level did not directly affect the Digimon’s combat power, but it had an indirect impact. For example, take the creature’s current level—level thirteen. If it leveled up in areas appropriate for its level, then after defeating Digimon mobs, its attributes would increase slightly. But if it leveled up in areas not suited to its level, it would not receive any attribute boosts.

Additionally, dungeons required players to be at the corresponding level to enter. A level thirteen creature could enter dungeons appropriate for its level or those a level lower, but not those a level higher.

Raiding dungeons was far better than grinding wild mobs in the leveling zones. Not to mention that dungeon bosses dropped much better loot than wild monsters; the creature had already found data for Zero Digimon in a hidden dungeon, and there was always a chance it could find more.

Most importantly, dungeon raids had a chance to drop equipment. With equipment, a Digimon could become stronger. If two Digimon had equal attack power, but one possessed a weapon or armor, it would likely defeat the one without.

Although the creature was not too impressed by the items produced by this game, given that it still needed to survive here for now, it had to try to make its Digimon stronger. Otherwise, if it died once, it would be weakened each time, or worse, if its player avatar was killed, who knew what might happen.

Moreover, if a player’s level was too low compared to their Digimon’s, the Digimon might rebel. As for how great a level difference would trigger rebellion, the game did not specify. But surely, if a player was level one and their Digimon was NEO-level, rebellion seemed inevitable. Outside the game world, without its constraints, even the highest-level Digimon wouldn’t necessarily harm an ordinary human.

In any case, after preparing everything, the creature set out with its Digimon—whose name was literally Creature, both official and nickname—and Zero, the Agumon.

At level one, a player could carry one Digimon. At level ten, two Digimon. Thereafter, for every ten levels, the player could carry one more. The creature had no idea what the game’s maximum level was.

Stepping out of the login space, the creature entered the safe zone within Tyrannosaurus Town. Yet, despite the town’s size, there were few other players to be seen.

It made sense—coming to Tyrannosaurus Town required at least level ten. Without that, the teleportation array wouldn’t activate. Even if one tried to walk here, there was no telling if an Ultimate-level Digimon might be lurking along the way.

For those who had just reached level ten, or weren’t even there yet, their strongest Digimon were likely mature-stage at best. If they encountered an Ultimate Digimon, their accounts could be ruined in an instant.

But the creature knew level ten was only a matter of time. The reason it had reached level thirteen was mainly due to gaining three levels in a row from a hidden dungeon. Without that, it would only be around level ten today. Other players might be a bit slower, but not by much.

Once outside, the creature opened the system map. Now, the map was of Tyrannosaurus Town, not the beginner village. Standing there, it clicked on one quest NPC after another, checking what tasks they offered.

At last, its gaze landed on one particular quest NPC. With a smile, after confirming the direction, the creature set off toward it.

Soon, the creature stood before this quest NPC—Nun Digimon: Black.

Nun Digimon: Black was a plush-type virus Digimon, mature-stage, with the special move "Grand Nun Cross." She wore a nun’s hat shaped like a black cat, was the sister of Nun Digimon: White, and was sunny, cheerful, and innocent by nature.

Regarding quest NPCs, the creature wasn’t sure if the difference was due to the town versus the beginner village, or a recent update. Previously, all quest NPCs in the beginner village had been humans, but here, they were Digimon.

As the creature approached, Nun Digimon: Black greeted it respectfully, “Hello, is there anything I can help you with?”

“I’d like to take a quest,” the creature replied, and promptly accepted a task from Nun Digimon: Black.

The quest wasn’t very long, but it would take some time to complete. The final reward, however, was an Otherworld Teleportation Token. With it, the creature could access a special dungeon, where it could search for the corresponding Digivice.

Yes, the Digivice. As previously mentioned, Digimon had gained multiple new forms of evolution. Whether these new evolutions or the original two, after the game update, all required a Digivice to succeed.

In other words, if the creature wanted to perform a fusion evolution with its Digimon, it needed to find the proper Digivice in that special dungeon; otherwise, evolution would be impossible. That was why it had come here, to accept the quest.

The quest had five stages, and upon reaching the fifth stage, the creature discovered that to obtain the Otherworld Teleportation Token, it needed to bring Nun Digimon: Black her favorite ice cream.

Clicking to check the source of this ice cream, the creature found there were only three ways to get it at this stage. First, a low probability drop from a dungeon boss. Second, a higher probability drop from a hidden dungeon boss. Third, a guaranteed exchange at the arena shop for ten arena points.

Undeniably, for the creature, there was no real choice at present.
