Chapter 61: A Mature Beast's Explosive Evolution
At present, the Beast’s attack power is only 1,500 points. Even with the “Demon King’s Might” boosting it by sixty percent, it barely reaches 2,100 points. Yet, even this might not be enough to defeat them.
To confront these adversaries, the Beast knows there is only one way: entering Burst Mode. Though “Mighty Strike” can double the Beast’s damage, reaching a maximum of 4,200 points, one must remember that this is only under optimal conditions. If “Mighty Strike” is triggered and “Demon King’s Might” merely adds thirty percent to the attack, the Beast’s power is just 3,600 points.
If the combined combat power of these two opponents is as the Beast suspects—1,000 points, the full value for a mature-stage Digimon—their attack power should hover around 3,000 points. Even if they don’t quite reach that, they possess skills as well.
Moreover, if the Beast’s other suspicion is correct and both these creatures are Digimon belonging to players, there’s a good chance they are equipped. The Beast has “Mighty Strike” to double its damage. The opponents, even if they can’t double theirs, could easily boost it by fifty percent or so, and with powerful skills, doubling is quite plausible.
In other words, their strongest attacks might already approach the 5,000-point threshold. How could the Beast fight this? If there were only one, victory might still be possible. After all, the maximum attack is just a hypothetical value; in reality, the Beast’s attack power is enough to break their defenses.
If it were a single adversary, the Beast could rely on its rich combat experience, its imposing presence, and a few other small advantages to counterattack. But facing two, the Beast dares not underestimate them.
The Beast has grown into an Ultimate Digimon through endless battles, always on the brink of death. It knows that underestimating other Digimon is tantamount to gambling with one’s life.
Even an ordinary Ultimate Digimon should not look down upon a mature-stage opponent; if that opponent happens to be a Seraphimon, then only death awaits.
Thinking of this, an evolution matrix appeared beneath the Beast’s feet. In the next instant, evolutionary light burst forth from its body.
The Beast still remembers, back when it was a mature-stage Digimon, that entering Burst Mode allowed it to leap across the Perfect stage, possessing power comparable to a first-class Ultimate.
But the Beast also knows that it has not yet reached its current peak, so Burst Mode cannot reach Ultimate-level power. Even so, it will still attain the Perfect stage.
The transformation in Burst Mode is not much different from its earlier battle form. Upon the red armor covering its body, blue armor now appears on the lower half, with a small section of white between the red and blue. A white cloak hangs behind it, able to transform into white feathers to attack enemies.
The red is Red Chrono Digizinc, the blue is Blue Chrono Digizinc, and the white is White Chrono Digimetal. Its design, if nothing else, rivals the appearance of the Crimson Knightmon.
The “Demon King’s Might” has also evolved, shifting from a vague shadow to a figure with discernible features—barely recognizable as humanoid. Moreover, a clear crown of “Pride,” one of the seven deadly sins, appears on its head.
The Beast itself is a fusion of partial data from ZeroBeast and partial data from Seraphimon. Although its previous evolution was influenced by Seraphimon: Fallen Form, even now with that influence gone, the Beast’s evolution follows much the same path as before.
After successful Burst Evolution, the Beast’s data is as follows:
Digimon: Beast
Type: Unknown
Attribute: Unknown
Level: Mature (Burst Mode)
Attack Power: 4,200
Defense Power: 4,000
Health: 8,600/8,600
Total Combat Power: 1,234
Demon King’s Might: Constantly envelops the Beast, usable for both attack and defense; grants flight status.
Demon King’s Might (Flight): Allows the Beast to enter flight mode, reaching sonic speed.
Demon King’s Might (Attack): Increases the Beast’s attack power by 50% to 70%.
Demon King’s Might (Defense): Increases the Beast’s defense power by 50% to 70%. When attacked, it also grants immunity to special damage.
Sword of Destruction: Made of ordinary Chrono Digizinc, possesses piercing effects.
Demon King Wave: The Beast gathers energy in its palm and releases it as an energy wave attack, increasing its attack by 50% to 70%. It also penetrates defenses—if the opponent’s defense or resistance is insufficient, they will be pierced.
Demon King Possession: Fully integrates Demon King’s Might into its body, increasing attack power by 50% to 150%, increasing defense by 50%, but reducing speed by 100%.
In essence, Demon King Possession trades speed for attack power—a useful skill against slow opponents, but ineffective against those of the speed type.
It is worth noting that if the Beast uses Demon King Possession in Burst Mode, its total attack power will reach at least 6,300 points. With the added effect of Demon King Wave, even at the minimum bonus of 50%, it will reach 9,450 points—nearly 10,000. Once it hits 10,000, even “Mighty Strike” cannot further boost it.
Even at 9,450 points, if “Mighty Strike” triggers its doubling effect, the Beast can only add another 550 points to round it up to 10,000, not leap straight to 18,900.
Thus, the Beast’s Burst Evolution is fully complete.
During the Beast’s evolution, Goldhorn and Silverhorn did not stand idly by. This was not a cutscene—no one foolishly stands unmoving, watching another digivolve. After all, they are not aliens who can turn their hair yellow, blue, or red.
Firstly, the Beast summoned a Goliath puppet to absorb damage before evolving. Secondly, though the evolution seemed lengthy, it actually took only an instant.
Therefore…
