Chapter 58: The Earth Tyrannosaurus
At this moment, Beast One, in his normal state, appeared just as he had when he was a Digimon—resembling the human male introduced at the beginning. When he shifted into his combat form, his entire armor transformed into a pale crimson hue, coated in red temporal digimetal, just like the armor he wore in his Burst Mode.
A golden crystal, symbolizing hope, emerged on his chest, while a golden halo circled above his head, reminiscent of an angel’s radiance. Wisps of black aura, the Demon King’s Might, swirled and burned around him.
One could say that Beast One, matured and in combat form, differed little from his Burst Mode. If there was any difference at all, it might be that he was slightly less formidable than in Burst Mode.
Returning to the main narrative, the dungeon’s minor monsters were no match for Beast One. Though they were classified as mature Digimon, their combat power paled in comparison—even if the hidden dungeon’s Agumon X, whom Beast One had previously faced, entered this dungeon in his growing phase, he might wipe out all these mature Greymon.
This was likely due to the official adjustment lowering the dungeon’s difficulty. Had it remained as before, Beast One could still defeat these lesser monsters, but not nearly with such ease.
In a short span, Beast One’s figure appeared before the dungeon’s boss—a TerraGreymon. Before entering, Beast One had already assessed the strength of this TerraGreymon.
TerraGreymon boasted an attack power of 1,200 points, slightly higher than Dragon Beast, yet still weaker than Beast One himself. Nevertheless, compared to the minor Greymon monsters, it was vastly superior.
TerraGreymon, a dinosaur-type vaccine Digimon in its mature stage, wielded its signature move: [Super Detonation]. As a subspecies of Greymon, it surpassed its ordinary counterparts in strength, with armor plating on its head and body that looked terrifyingly lethal.
Yet, Beast One knew little of TerraGreymon’s other abilities. Still, since even his own skills now possessed special traits, it stood to reason that the dungeon boss, TerraGreymon, would not be without unique abilities.
“A human, is it?” TerraGreymon, upon seeing Beast One and his companions, charged at them without hesitation.
[Great Horn Assault]—TerraGreymon rushed forward, closing the distance in an instant, and slammed straight into Beast One. Beast One’s Demon King’s Might surged from his fists, bracing against TerraGreymon’s twin horns, halting its advance. Though this left two deep furrows in the ground beneath Beast One’s feet, his life force suffered no significant loss.
[Super Detonation]—it was clear that TerraGreymon’s previous attack had failed to break through. In the next moment, TerraGreymon opened its jaws wide, attempting a close-range strike against Beast One.
[Blade of Destruction]—a longsword materialized in Beast One’s hand. Seizing the instant before TerraGreymon’s mouth was fully open, he thrust the blade upward, piercing through its lower jaw and out through the armor atop its head.
“Ah…” TerraGreymon groaned, unable to even cry out in pain.
Beast One then moved to cleave forward with the [Blade of Destruction], intent on severing TerraGreymon in two. With the new updates, such a grievous wound could drain TerraGreymon’s health to zero.
Yet TerraGreymon, enduring the agony, pushed forward with its small forelimbs, bracing against Beast One’s hands, and tried to force him away. For a moment, the two were locked in a stalemate.
As for Dragon Beast, he was busy keeping the lesser monsters at bay, ensuring they would not interfere with the battle between Beast One and TerraGreymon.
Seeing this, Beast One silently summoned the Goliath Beast puppet. As it appeared, it delivered a [Power Strike] to TerraGreymon. Though this attack did little actual damage, it had a knockback effect, forcing TerraGreymon to retreat.
This separation meant Beast One and TerraGreymon were no longer locked together, though it had no further impact on the outcome.
TerraGreymon glanced at Beast One, a trace of dread flickering in its eyes. It paced back and forth at a distance, unwilling to charge again.
But if TerraGreymon would not advance, Beast One certainly would. He gathered the Demon King’s Might to his back, forming what seemed like a pair of wings, and in the next instant, streaked forward to stand before TerraGreymon.
TerraGreymon was startled by his arrival, raising a claw to strike. Yet Beast One halted just short of TerraGreymon, and as the claw swung, his Demon King’s Might swiftly morphed into an attack form. He reached out, seized TerraGreymon’s arm, yanked it forward, and struck with his other fist.
The blow landed squarely on TerraGreymon’s head, leaving it dizzy. Beast One then plunged the [Blade of Destruction] into TerraGreymon’s abdomen.
In the end, Beast One finished off TerraGreymon—without even needing his invincible ability. Ultimately, TerraGreymon was simply too weak.
Had TerraGreymon possessed three thousand attack points, the earlier charge would have sent Beast One flying, unable to hold his ground. The claw swipe would have shattered the Demon King’s Might rather than being caught.
In truth, Beast One simply overwhelmed TerraGreymon with superior attack power. If TerraGreymon were stronger, Beast One’s best option would have been to dodge rather than withstand its assault.
After all, this digital world, though different from the usual Digimon realms, still adhered to the fundamental law: the strong reign supreme.
Having dealt with TerraGreymon, the next step was, naturally, to loot…
Oh, no—that was the collection phase…
